Developing quantitative research skills requires a combination of theoretical knowledge, statistical techniques, and practical experience. In this talk, I will share with graduate students and junior faculty my observations and 30-plus years of experience in doing empirical research on how to build a solid theoretical foundation, learn statistical concepts and develop quantitative research skills. Examples from my past research will be provided to illustrate each component and related skills.
