ZHI TINGRONG – Media Convergence in Mainland China: Cases and Models
Zhi Tingrong is Dean, Professor, School of Journalism and Communication, Jinan University. His research interests include media economics and media sociology. He is the chief expert of the major bidding project of the National Social Science Foundation, and also serves as a member of the National Master Degree Education Steering Committee in Journalism and Communication, a standing director of the China Journalism History Society, and a standing director of the Journalism and Communication Branch of the China Higher Education Association. He has won several academic awards such as the second prize of outstanding achievements in humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities by the Ministry of Education, the second prize of excellent textbooks in national colleges and universities by the Ministry of Education, and the second prize of outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Guangdong Province.
ZHENG LIANG – New Horizons in International Communication
Zheng Liang is Associate Dean, Professor, President of the Institute of Communication and Frontier Governance, School of Journalism and Communication, Jinan University. His research interests include global communication, communication and frontier governance, and the reconstruction of the world human rights discourse. In 2017, he was selected into the national talent project and published more than ten papers in Chinese core journals. He has published one monograph, presided over one major special commissioned project of the National Social Science Fund, four general projects, and several provincial and ministerial projects.
LIN ZHONGXUAN – eSports Patriotism: Triple Articulation of State Power, Industry Capital, and Individual Dream
Lin Zhongxuan (Ph.D.) is a Professor and Associate Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. His main research interests include new media studies, media cultural studies, digital disability studies, communication research on Hong Kong and Macao, international communication, etc. He is the chief expert on major projects of the National Social Science Foundation and serves as a decision-making consulting expert for Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government. He was selected for the national talent project in 2022. Since 2017, he has published 44 articles in SSCI and A&HCI journals, 10 in TSSCI and CSSCI journals, and 5 textbooks and monographs.
LUO XIN – The Global Pattern of Internet Governance and China’s Approach
Luo Xin is Associate Dean, Professor, School of Journalism and Communication, Jinan University. His main research areas are media convergence, Internet governance, and network public opinion. He is the chief expert of major bidding projects of the National Social Science Foundation and has presided over more than ten key projects and late-funded projects of the National Social Science Foundation as well as provincial, ministerial and municipal projects. He has published more than 70 papers in authoritative journals such as Journalism & Communication, Chinese Journal of Journalism &Communication, and Modern Communication and has published several books and teaching materials.
LIU QIAN – Health communication during COVID-19: Social media usage and newspaper research
Liu Qian is Professor, School of Journalism and Communication, Jinan University, Visiting scholar at Communication Department, University at Albany, State University of New York, USA, visiting scholar at Media and Communication department, CityU Hongkong. Her research interests are data analysis and visualization, Health communication and new media technology, museums’ communication and Chinese culture. She has published several papers in prestigious journals and one monograph and has served as a reviewer for several academic journals and conferences.
HUANG YAKUN – The Practice Path and Strategy of Community Mission in the Context of Health Communication
Huang Yakun is Associate Professor, Director of Health Communication and Behavioral Science Research Center, School of Journalism and Communication, Jinan University, Visiting scholar at Chinese University in Hong Kong and Pennsylvania State University. Her main research areas are visual communication, health communication and journalism practice research. She has participated in 1 national social science fund, presided over 3 provincial-level projects and 2 horizontal projects, and published more than ten academic papers.
